iSpring Free is an easy-to-use PowerPoint add-in that will quickly convert any presentation to a Flash document (SWF format).
The program works with PowerPoint XP, 2003, 2007 and 2010, adding its own tab to the ribbon in the latest versions. To convert a file, all you must do is open the presentation, choose the iSpring Free "Quick Publish" option, provide a file name and wait as the Flash file is produced. Once it's ready, a browser window will open and you can view the results for yourself.
Choosing the Publish option instead provides more fine control over the results. You're able to define slide durations and set the background colour, for instance, as well as deciding if the presentation should start automatically, whether it should loop, and generally choose how your applet will behave.
Of course a static presentation, intended for the desktop, won't necessarily work well online - but the authors have thought of that, too. iSpring Free also includes options to insert Flash objects and even YouTube videos into your presentations, the perfect way to add a little extra interactivity and hold your viewers interest.
Please note, while this version is free for personal and educational use, iSpring also produce two commercial versions with many more features. These include customisable player templates, multimedia compression control, audio recording, the ability to publish to a CD, Flash content protection and more. Prices start at $249 and you can find out more on the iSpring site.
