SlimCleaner is a powerful PC maintenance tool that will help to clean up, optimise and maintain your computer.

The program's Cleaner module, for instance, detects and removes temporary files left behind by Windows and your applications. It's effective, too, recovering roughly the same amount of drive space as CCleaner in our tests.

The Optimize module lists your Windows startup programs and services, and displays ratings provided by other SlimCleaner users to recommend any that you might be able to do without. In previous reviews we found many programs were marked as "unrated", limiting its usefulness, but coverage now is very good: out of 86 programs installed on our test PC, only 11 had no rating at all.

The same crowd-sourced information is used to rate your installed applications in the Uninstaller module, and your toolbars, browser helper objects and other components in the Hijack Log. We didn't agree with every rating, inevitably, but this is still an easy way to get another perspective on the various programs installed on your system.

And bonus extras include various disk tools (Shredder, Duplicate Finder, Disk Analyzer, Defrag and more), and a "Windows" panel for easy access to fifteen of the most important Windows maintenance tools.
