RecALL is a free program which tries to recover application license keys, passwords and more.
We ran it on our test PC and it found the licence keys for Windows 8.1, Axialis IconWorkshop, TuneUp Utilities, VMware Workstation and assorted CyberLink applications (but not our Office 2013).
This information was presented in a confusing way. Many applications were listed multiple times, for example. Sometimes each entry had a different value, and you're left to figure out yourself which one (if any) might be correct correct.
RecALL seems designed to display password details, but it found very few on our test PC. It only gave the user name and password for one of our Outlook 2013 accounts, and located very little for websites.
Fortunately there is one useful option in a "Server Emulation" mode. Set this up, change your email or FTP client to access 127.0.0.1 instead of its usual server, then connect as usual. RecALL intercepts and displays the user name and password, very handy if you've forgotten them.
Verdict:
RecALL isn't a particularly useful password or licence key finder. It did quickly detect our Windows 8.1 key, though, and the ability to intercept email and FTP traffic means it could find some logons that other programs miss.
