Start10 is a very configurable Start menu alternative for Windows 10.
A quick and easy installation immediately gives you a Windows 7-style menu, complete with Search box, an "All Programs" menu, links to your Windows 10 apps, and no live tiles at all.
If that doesn't work for you, options to display the menu in a Modern or Windows 10 style might help it to fit in better with the rest of the operating system.
Each menu style can be tweaked in various ways. You're able to define a custom Start button, apply textures to the menu and taskbar, set icon and tile sizes, transparency, and more.
Start10 doesn't completely take over your system, either. If you've a problem with it, pressing the right Windows key or Ctrl+clicking the Start button will display the regular Windows 10 Start menu, and there are options to make this even easier (you could set the Start button to display Start10, say, while pressing the Windows key displayed the standard menu).
Verdict:
Start10 is easy to use, configurable and looks good. But if you're just looking for a simple Windows 7-style menu, Classic Shell may give you everything you need for free.
