StableBit CloudDrive creates a virtual hard drive on your PC, but stores the data on your favourite cloud storage provider (Amazon S3, Box, Dropbox, Google Cloud Storage, Google Drive, Microsoft Azure, OneDrive, OneDrive for Business). Local drives and network storage are supported, too.
You could already just browse to your cloud storage folder, of course, but CloudDrive improves on this in several ways.
Advantage #1 is that CloudDrive can encrypt your data with AES-256, so there's no need to worry about who's accessing your account.
Advantage #2 is smart caching, which stores your most-used data on a local drive for faster performance.
Advantage #3 is prefetching, where CloudDrive detects sequential file access, like media streaming, and downloads data you're about to access before you need it.
Advantage #4 is metadata pinning. For example, CloudDrive can pin NTFS directory indexes to the local cache, which means you're able to browse folders without needing to download anything.
CloudDrive works by emulating a real SCSI drive, which makes it supremely compatible with other software.
CloudDrive can also be used with its companion product, DrivePool, which allows combining multiple cloud providers into one large virtual drive.
Verdict:
StableBit CloudDrive offers a smart way to access and protect your cloud data.
