Storing your digital music, video and photo collection on your Mac is a great way to help keep things organised, but you may want to enjoy your collection on other devices. This is what Rivet enables you to do, making it possible to share and stream files from your Mac to an iPhone, iPad, Xbox 360 or PS3.
Sharing settings can be customised so you can choose precisely which folders should be shared, and in the case of photos you can choose the quality setting at which they should be shared.
The program can be configured to run automatically at system startup so all of your shared files will be available for streaming right from the offset. To prevent interruption, Rivet will automatically disable sleep mode to prevent your computer from powering down.
To stream to PS3 and Xbox 360, no additional software is needed - just a network connection - but a separate app is available for both iPhone and iPad to allow for streaming to these devices.
Verdict:
A simple and customisable means of making your digital music, video and photo collection available on other networked devices.
