As the name would suggest, BluePrint Sketch is a design tool for iPad. It can be used to create mindmaps, schemes, designs and draughts quickly and easily, taking full advantage of the iPad large touch screen.

A range of predesigned objects and shapes can be dropped onto your workspace, and these can be customised by changing the positioning, shape, size and colour. The interface varies between being uncluttered to the point of scarcity, to hectically busy, depending on which tools and options are selected.

Completed files can be saved in the app's native format or as a n image file to make it easier to share with others. Exporting to a PDF file is also supported.

iPhone user may bemoan the fact that there is not a version of the app available for their mobile, but BluePrint Sketch really does need the extra screen real estate. While put forward as a multi-facetted design tool, the app is really best suited to creating flowcharts and mindmaps.
