MouseFIGHTER is a simple tool which allows you to control your mouse cursor from the keyboard, perhaps very useful if your mouse is broken or missing.

At its simplest, all you have to do is press Caps Lock to activate MouseFIGHTER, then use the cursor keys to move the mouse pointer around, pressing A to simulate a left-click, S a right-click.

That may not work for you, of course. (While testing the program and typing text, for instance, we forgot about the left-click, right-click keys, and briefly wondered why we couldn't type "s" any more.) But fortunately MouseFIGHTER allows you to reconfigure any of these to whatever you like, so you could, say, have Scroll Lock as the activation keys, F11 and F12 to simulate clicks.

And there are plenty of other configuration options on offer here. You're able to control how the cursor accelerates and decelerates in use, for instance, and there are several other keyboard layouts available for you to try.

The program does have some annoyances. It opens a browser window at the MouseFIGHTER site on launch, for instance. And its RAM use is more than we were expecting at almost 30MB on our test PC.

If you can't, or don't want to use a mouse then MouseFIGHTER is an interesting alternative, though, and the program is definitely worth a closer look.
