AVS Document Converter is just what its name suggests: a simple tool for converting documents from one format to another.
The program has good file format support. It's able to read PDF, HTML, HTM, MHT, RTF, DOC, DOCX, ODT, PPT, PPTX, TXT, TIFF, TIF, EPUB, MOBI, FB2, DjVu and XPS files, and can convert any of these to PDF, HTML, MHT, RTF, DOC, DOCX, ODT, TXT, GIF, JPEG, PNG, TIFF, EPUB, MOBI or FB2 format.
The conversion process is fairly straightforward. Drag and drop a few files onto the program, choose your output format, and that could just about be it.
You may be able to configure the finished files in various ways, though, so for instance you're able to set security permissions for PDFs to restrict editing, printing or copying content.
Other options allow you to merge documents, rename them, or perhaps just manually extract all the images from a source file and save them to a folder somewhere.
And finally, clicking "Convert Now!" will leave the program to convert the files for you.
This is a trial version of the program. It has restrictions on the number of some files you can convert (we had an allowance of 30 PDFs, for instance), and all destination files have a watermark added. It's good enough for you to see how the program works, though, and is worth the download if you're interested in this kind of tool.
Verdict:
A simple and straightforward document converter with wide file format support
