ClocX is a fun desktop clock which comes with hundreds of visual styles. Your clock can be antique or futuristic, colourful or plain. A number of clocks are based around logos for various companies: Apple, Nissan, BMW, Mercedes, Coca Cola and more. Other designs are based around anything from Disney characters to old rock bands, and you can spend quite some time just browsing what's on offer.
The program isn't just about looks, though - there are also plenty of ways to customise its behaviour. Would you like your clock to be always on top of other windows, for instance? Movable, or fixed? Do you want to be able to click through the clock to the window underneath? If so, how transparent should the clock be? The ClocX Options dialog helps you answer all these questions (and many others).
There's also a very practical side here, in the ClocX Alarm Editor. You can create multiple alarms to run and repeat as often as you like; these can display a window, play a sound or video; and you can have the program launch an application, or just shut down your PC.
And just in case you need any more encouragement, the program is entirely free, includes no adware, and is extremely lightweight: the program typically required less than 4MB RAM when running in the background on our test PC.
Verdict:
Lightweight, configurable and with a host of stylish clocks on offer, ClocX is a great way to help customise your desktop
