Mobogenie is an easy-to-use PC tool for managing your Android phone.
Installation is quick and easy, with no adware or other marketing hassles to worry about.
Connect an Android phone to your PC via a USB cable (wifi connections aren't supported) and Mobogenie displays a few core details: phone model, charge level, free storage space and more. Buttons allow you to manage various aspects of the device - contacts, SMS, apps, music, pictures, videos - and it's easy to update your installed apps, send a text, add a new contact, and generally get your phone in order.
Useful bonus tools allow you to open an SD card in Windows Explorer, directly install apps from their APK files, or back up your entire phone in a couple of clicks.
Mobogenie is really about providing content for your phone, though. There are sections where you can browse apps, games, ringtones, wallpapers, even YouTube videos. These are generally well organised, with "Featured", "Most Popular" and "New" lists helping you find what you need. A "Showcase" section acts as an overall portal, and tries to cover all the latest content in one place. And wherever you are, there's generally a "Download" or "Install" button which will grab that app, music or video and copy it to your phone.
Version 3.0 brings:
- more content, which is now also accessible to everyone (no Android device required)
- improved performance and download speeds
- improved and more accurate searching
- more personalised recommendations
- a revamped, easier-to-use interface
Verdict:
A likeable and easy-to-use Android phone management tool
