Images2PDF, just as its name suggested, saves your specified images as a PDF file.
The program interface needs work. Its toolbar has tiny buttons with unintuitive icons, leaving us wondering what most of them did. Fortunately tooltips are available to offer some clues.
Images2PDF becomes more interesting as you start work. It doesn't just import images (JPG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, BMP and PCX are supported), for example: you're able to set a default page size, background colour and orientation. There's an option to define page borders, and the program can even detect and exclude image duplicates.
Your chosen images then appear in a sidebar where you can tweak them individually, setting a new background colour here, maybe changing the paper orientation there.
By default the images appear in alphabetical order. If this doesn't suit your needs then you're able to drag and drop them to a new position, or manually rearrange them from the right-click menu (there are Move Top/ Up/ Down/ Bottom options).
Choose to export your PDF and you're able to set its key metadata (Title, Author, Subject, Keywords), and embed JPEGs without recompressing them, preserving image quality. Or, if you need to keep file sizes to a minimum, there are options to set JPEG quality, or just to compress your images by a target amount (50%, say).
Images2PDF also scores highly if you regularly need to combine images in the same way. You're able to save your settings and customisations for easy re-use later, and the program also has a command line interface to help you automate the entire process.
Verdict:
Images2PDF would benefit from an image revamp, but you'll learn how it works quickly enough. The ability to tweak settings like page orientation and background colour per image is welcome, though, and the command line interface may save you time. Worth a try if your needs are simple.
