It's something that's happened to all of us. While watching TV or out shopping, we hear a song playing in the background and can't for the life of us think what it's called. Shazam may just be the app you have been looking for, and it is likely to be used to end countless arguments.
All you need to do is to point your iPhone towards the speaker and after a few seconds of analysis the app will tell you the name of the song and the artist performing it. You can use the on screen links to access reviews of the song or album in question and read biographies of the artist.
You can also access discographies and post your tagged songs to Twitter or Facebook or buy tracks from iTunes. When you have tagged an artist, Shazam will also tell you about local gigs and provide you with links to buy tickets.
With location awareness, Shazam can be used to record your musical journey so you will always be able to find out where you were when you heard a particular song.
Verdict:
Shazam really has to be tried out to be believed. The speed and accuracy with which it can identify songs is simply incredible.
