While there are a number of tools that can be used to navigate the files stored on your hard drive, they are all, in essence, very similar in the approach they take. Liquifile offers a completely different way of browsing folders.
The approach is a very visual one, and the program interface has been designed to make it easier to identify files without necessarily having to read filenames. Circular icons appear to the right of files, and the size of these icons help to indicate not only the age but also the size of a file.
To make it easier to focus on the files you are working with, the labels for other files and folders can have their text size greatly reduced. A method of folder navigation similar to that used in Finder is also available, and it can take a little time to get used to the new method of working.
Liquiiverse my not immediately become a complete replacement for Finder, but it worth trying out if only because it is so different to other file navigation tools that exist. You may decide that its approach is a little out of leftfield, but it is an interesting new take on an old idea.
Verdict:
A completely revolutionary way of interacting with your files and folders which can only be described as utterly unique.
