ServersCheck has announced the release of ServersCheck 12, its hugely comprehensive enterprise-level network/ web/ system and server monitor.
The highlight this time is the program is now free for personal or business use, with no time limits, to monitor just as many systems as you like.
This is very good news if you’re looking for a system or network monitor, because ServersCheck can check just about everything: RAM/ CPU/ disk usage, running processes or services, network bandwidth, ping response times, DNS settings, SSL certificate validity, web pages and their contents, FTP files, email servers, database connections, Amazon AWS cloud, media servers and more.
Alerts can be raised by email, thanks to the program’s built-in web server, but there’s also an option to use SMS, and a new ability to translate the text alert into a voice call.
Whatever you’re checking, a vast number of detailed reports will keep you up-to-date on its performance, and the browser-based interface means these can be accessible anywhere.
We did have one immediate issue with the program, as the installation program complained that it was “unable to register the DLL/OCX” ResponseTransformer. There’s no technical support with the free version, either, but a quick check at the product forum confirmed that this was a known issue, and the error could safely be ignored.
ServersCheck 12 isn’t for beginners, but if you need extreme network monitoring power then it’s a must-see. Expect to spend a day or two checking out its possibilities, though – there’s a lot to uncover.
