Ellora Assets Corporation has updated its freeware Windows video-conversion tool to version 2.1, introducing a number of new features. Freemake Video Converter 2.1 is now capable of converting video formats with embedded subtitles – including DVD and MOV – to any of its supported formats or mobile devices, including iPad, iPhone, PSP and Android. In addition, SSA/SRT/ASS external subtitles can now be added to any video too.
Other improvements in version 2.1 include enhanced Blu-ray options as well as improvements to the program’s photo slideshow manager, which now offers full editing facilities, including the ability to add, rearrange, remove, shuffle or auto-rotate photos, plus create a panorama effect.
Version 2.1 also allows the user to copy a Blu-ray disc to a disc image or folder on the hard drive, making it easy to generate multiple copies of the disc thanks to a new option within the main program. Also present is the option of DVD to DVD/Blu-ray conversion.
One final new feature is the ability to select a custom audio track for a video stream, while an issue with decoding TS files has been resolved, building on the previous minor release (2.0.1), which was primarily a collection of bug fixes.
Freemake Video Converter 2.1 is freeware, and requires Windows XP or later.
