Ahead of the imminent release of iOS 4.2, Apple has released iTunes 10.1 which features supported for the updated mobile operating system. In addition to the usual collection of bug fixes and performance and stability improvements, the latest version of iTunes includes the option to completely disable the Ping feature.
Another Ping related update sees the addition of Twitter support from Ping. This means that users are now able to tweet from Ping indicating a like or dislike for a particle song or artist – anyone reading your tweet can click on an automatically generated link to find out more about the track or album in question.
One of the biggest new features to be found in iOS 4.2 is the ability to stream content to mobile devices via AirPlay. iTunes 10.1 includes support for AirPlay meaning that it will be possible to stream music or video from your iTunes library to your Apple TV or a set of speakers.
iTunes 10.1 is available for both Mac and Windows. Find out more and download the software by paying a visit to the program web page.
