There are many ways to find lyrics to whatever you’re playing online, but they’re usually slow, inconvenient, maybe inaccurate, and sometimes all three.
Lyrics Here is a browser addon for Chrome, Firefox and more which instantly finds and shows the lyrics for whatever you’re playing on YouTube, Spofify, Deezer, Google Music, SoundCloud and 40+ similar sites.
There’s nothing to set up or configure. Just visit YouTube or a music site, find and play something, and a new pane quickly appears (usually at the same time as playback starts) with the song title and lyrics.
We found the new window was sensibly displayed, out of the way and not blocking any important part of the site, but if your experience is different then you can resize and drag it wherever you like.
The add-on found the correct lyrics for all but one of our tests, and the only failure was probably because of an oddly-formatted YouTube title.
Even if you have a problem, it’s not a big deal. Lyrics Here has a “Different Source” link which tries again on another lyrics site, and in our case delivered the right results in barely a second.
What was the source? Hovering your mouse over “Info” gives you a link which takes you to the relevant web page, and following this will often give you more information on the track: release date, album, artist details, further links.
Lyrics Here is a great extension which delivers on every level: it’s very fast, accurate, displays lyrics conveniently, gives you access to more information and stays out of your way when it’s not needed. Recommended.
